Job Description

Start Corporation is looking for an outgoing group facilitator for our Start with HEART couples' education groups in the New Orleans, Covington and Mandeville clinics. The Start with HEART group facilitator will lead structured group sessions designed to support couples in strengthening communication, resolving conflicts and deepening connection. This role requires a compassionate skills professional who can create a safe, inclusive and engaging environment.

Minimum Requirements

  • Masters Degree in social services (Social Work, Psychology, Sociology etc.)  

  • At least 1 year experience in social services 

  • Fully licensed or license eligible

  • Communicate respectfully and effectively and establish professional relationships. 

  • Promotes recovery, independence, and personal choice for participants. 

  • Accurately identifies risk and responds appropriately.  

  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of behavioral health symptoms, interventions, and impact. 

  • Maintains professional boundaries and operates within agency /ethical guidelines.  

  • Knowledge of agency and community resources and referral processes. 

  • Assists participants in facilitating PREP 8.0 v2.1 Model activities

Job Duties/Skills Required

  • Complete mandatory training series for PREP 8.0 v2.1 Couples Model. 

  • Participate in weekly supervision and consultation for the PREP 8.0 v2.1 Model. 

  • Schedule and maintain a flexible workweek to meet the needs of families, scheduled program meetings and documentation responsibilities.  

  • Maintain flexible availability to receive referrals. Ensure couple intake sessions occur within 1 week of referral.   

  • Provide consistent, quality services while maintaining fidelity to the PREP 8.0 v2.1 Model.  

  • Maintain contact with relevant stakeholders for each PREP 8.0 v2.1 couple. 

  • Promote the agency/program within the community.  

  • Meet guidelines for submission of notes into eCW electronic data system. 

  • Assist with scheduling transportation to groups if needed (transportation is available through Start clinic. 

  • Assist with scheduling childcare for couples attending groups if needed (childcare will be available through the program) 

  • Assist with planning quarterly date night events for couples in group  


REQUIREMENTS  

  • Commitment to the PREP 8.0 v2.1 Model.  

  • Ability to work with diverse individuals/couples/populations. 

  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain client and employee confidentiality.  

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.  

  • Requires working nontraditional, flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.  

  • Work is performed in the community and an office environment.  

  • Requires travel throughout the community.  

  • Maintain a caseload of 1-2 HEART groups (3-5 couples each)  at any given time.  

  • Provide at least 2-4 hours of group services per week. 

  • Data entry into eCW.
