Outreach Specialist (My Community Cares)
Job Description
Start Corporation's My Community Cares program is looking for an outgoing Outreach Specialist to participate in and host events to grow the My Community Cares program. The Outreach Specialist would also work with Neighbor Leads and Teams to identify community needs bring resources and awareness of the program to those areas. Consistent, weekly support and supervision is provide for development and growth within the program.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelors level: Bachelors Degree in social services (Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, etc.)
At least 2 years’ experience in social services
Masters level: Masters Degree in social services (Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, etc.)
At least 1 year experience in social services

Effectively demonstrate the understanding and practice of FRC and MCC programs.
Communicate respectfully and effectively and establish professional relationships.
Promotes recovery, independence, and personal choice for participants.
Assists participants in identifying strengths, needs, and realistic goals to develop a service plan.
Accurately identifies risk and responds appropriately.
Demonstrates advanced knowledge of behavioral health symptoms, interventions, and impact.
Maintains professional boundaries and operates within agency /ethical guidelines.
Knowledge of agency and community resources and referral processes.
Job Duties/Skills Required
Complete mandatory training series for FRC and MCC programs.
Participate in weekly supervision and consultation for FRC program.
Schedule and maintain a flexible workweek to meet the needs of community and hosted events, scheduled program meetings and documentation responsibilities.
Identify, establish and grow MCC neighborhood leads and teams.
Plan and host monthly parent cafes for the community, parent education groups and specialized groups in the community.
Maintain contact with relevant stakeholders for FRC and MCC programs.
Promote the agency/program within the community.
Meet guidelines for submission of notes into AWARDS electronic data system.
REQUIREMENTS
Commitment to the FRC and MCC programs.
Ability to work with diverse individuals/families/populations.
Ability to exercise discretion and maintain client and employee confidentiality.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Can require working nontraditional, flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Work is performed in the community and an office environment.
Requires extensive travel throughout the community.
Involves exposure to tobacco smoke, domestic animals, household pests, and other conditions common to community environments.
Data entry into AWARDS.
Attend community events, agency in-services and maintain contact with FRC and MCC stakeholders to promote FRC and MCC programs to ensure referrals and community awareness of the program.
Guide neighborhood leads and teams to promote FRC and MCC programs in the community.
