Job Description

Start Corporation is looking for motivated, outgoing licensed or provisionally licensed therapists in the Bayou Region to provide in-home, community-based, individualized services to youth. Therapists will develop personalized treatment plans to build healthy skills for the youth in their home, school and community environments. Therapists work with youth and their families to model, teach and implement skills, including communication, emotional regulation, social, problem-solving, conflict resolution, etc.

Minimum Requirements

  • Masters Degree in social services (Social Work, Psychology, Sociology etc.)  

  • At least 2 years’ experience in social services 

  • Provisionally or fully licensed (PLPC, LMSW, LPC, LCSW)

  • Effectively demonstrate the understanding and practice of CPST/PSR services. 

  • Communicate respectfully and effectively and establish professional relationships. 

  • Promotes recovery, independence, and personal choice for participants.  

  • Assists participants in identifying strengths, needs, and realistic goals to develop a service plan. 

  • Accurately identifies risk and responds appropriately.  

  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of behavioral health symptoms, interventions, and impact. 

  • Maintains professional boundaries and operates within agency /ethical guidelines.  

  • Knowledge of agency and community resources and referral processes.

Job Duties/Skills Required

  • Complete mandatory training series for Youth CPST/PSR program. 

  • Participate in weekly supervision and consultation for the Youth CPST/PSR program. 

  • Schedule and maintain a flexible workweek to meet the needs of families, scheduled program meetings and documentation responsibilities.  

  • Maintain flexible availability to receive referrals. Ensure family intake sessions occur within 1 week of referral.   

  • Provide consistent, quality services while maintaining fidelity to the Youth CPST/PSR program.  

  • Maintain contact with relevant stakeholders for each Youth CPST/PSR family. Promote the agency/program within the community.  

  • Meet guidelines for submission of notes into AWARDS electronic data system.  

REQUIREMENTS  

  • Commitment to the Youth CPST/PSR.  

  • Ability to work with diverse individuals/families/populations. 

  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain client and employee confidentiality.  

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.  

  • Requires working nontraditional, flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.  

  • Work is performed in family homes, the community and an office environment.  

  • Requires extensive travel to family homes and throughout the community.  

  • Involves exposure to tobacco smoke, domestic animals, household pests, and other conditions common to home environments.  

  • Maintain a caseload of 15/25 Youth CPST/PSR families at any given time.  

  • Provide at least 20 hours of billable services per week. 

  • Data entry into AWARDS system.
