Grant Writer
Job Description
Start Corp's Compliance Department is seeking an internal grant writer to assist in writing, submitting, and tracking grant applications. This person will also be responsible for monitoring, preparing, and submitting progress reports to funders in various grant management platforms as required.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree Minimum of 2 years of experience in grant writing, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
Proven experience in grant writing, including drafting and submitting mini-grants.
Core Competencies
Research and identify potential grant opportunities that align with Start Corporation's mission and programs.
Develop and write compelling grant proposals, including narratives, budgets, and supporting documentation.
Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with grantors and other funding sources.
Stay updated on trends and best practices in grant writing and funding opportunities.
Proven track record of successfully securing grants from government agencies and foundations
Job Duties/Skills Required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong research and analytical skills with attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Proficiency in Google Suite and grant management software.
Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary information and ensure proposals accurately reflect project goals and objectives.
Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and ensure timely submission of all proposals.
Track and report on the status of submitted proposals and follow up with funders as needed.
Prepare and submit progress reports to funders as required.
Perform all other duties as required by the Vice President of Compliance.
