Functional Family Therapy (FFT) Therapist
Job Description
Are you passionate about helping families create lasting change? Start Corporation is looking for compassionate, energetic FFT and FFT-CW Therapists to join our growing team and provide evidence-based interventions to youth and their families in their home and community environments. In this role, therapists build strong therapeutic relationships, help families improve communication and problem-solving skills, reduce high-risk behaviors and empower caregivers to create healthier family dynamics. FFT and FFT-CW therapists work collaboratively with families, community partners and support systems to keep families safely connected.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelors level:
Bachelor Degree in social services (Social Work, Psychology, Sociology etc.)
At least 2 years’ experience in social services
Masters level:
Masters Degree in social services (Social Work, Psychology, Sociology etc.)
At least 2 years’ experience in social services

Assists participants in identifying strengths, needs, and realistic goals to develop a service plan.
Accurately identifies risk and responds appropriately.
Demonstrates advanced knowledge of behavioral health symptoms, interventions, and impact.
Maintains professional boundaries and operates within agency /ethical guidelines.
Knowledge of agency and community resources and referral processes.
Job Duties/Skills Required
Complete mandatory training series for FFT Model. Participate in weekly supervision and consultation for the FFT Model.
Schedule and maintain a flexible workweek to meet the needs of families, scheduled program meetings and documentation responsibilities.
Maintain flexible availability to receive referrals. Ensure family intake sessions occur within 1 week of referral.
Provide consistent, quality services while maintaining fidelity to the FFT Model.
Maintain contact with relevant stakeholders for each FFT family.
Promote the agency/program within the community.
Meet guidelines for submission of notes into CSS and AWARDS electronic data system.
REQUIREMENTS
Commitment to the FFT Model.
Ability to work with diverse individuals/families/populations. Ability to exercise discretion and maintain client and employee confidentiality.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Requires working nontraditional, flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Work is performed in family homes, the community and an office environment.
Requires extensive travel to family homes and throughout the community.
Involves exposure to tobacco smoke, domestic animals, household pests, and other conditions common to home environments.
Maintain a caseload of 10-13 FFT families at any given time.
Provide at least 16-18 hours of billable services per week.
Data entry into AWARDS and FFT’s system, CSS.
